Larissa Lezama Salcedo and her family enabled the city of Laconia to build its first ever dog park with generous donations from the Lezama family. She says of her hard-working immigrant family that they rose to success in a new country through perseverance and working together for the same goal. The family opened Las Piñatas in the former railroad station in Veterans Square in Laconia in 1991 after having moved to the Lakes Region from Mexico City. Larissa is active in the community and serves on the Events Committee for the Humane Society.
