Laconia Pet Center Supports the NH Humane Society with September "Round Up" program

Making BIG Changes for Homeless Animals

Your generous contribution allows us to care for the thousands of animals that pass through our doors each year, and help us advance our mission of giving a voice to the voiceless.

This legislative session we worked closely with our fellow animal rescue agencies and advocates to pass HB2, our State budget bill, which included an exemption to allow cats testing positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukemia (FeLV) to be appropriately placed at shelters and rescues operating in the Granite State. About 2% of cats may have FIV - non-transmittable to humans and easily contained and managed in otherwise healthy cats. Casey, a handsome tabby cat, was found on the streets and brought to the shelter, where he tested positive for FIV. Thanks to rigorous advocacy, Casey is now enjoying a new forever home.
